Job summary

Kier Group is offering a Summer Placement for a Mechanical Engineering student to join our Infrastructure team in Leeds, Yorkshire. The role involves assisting in the design, development and implementation of mechanical systems across the Yorkshire Water framework.

You will gain hands-on experience, mentorship from professionals, and exposure to quantity surveying principles during an 8-week placement starting July 2027. A driving licence is required and sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Returning to university after placement
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Good written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Full driving licence required

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of mechanical systems for projects
• Support preparation of drawings, specifications, and reports
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards and quality requirements
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and company policies
