Job summary

Sellick Partnership is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager for a public sector assignment in Leeds on a 3-month contract. The role is hybrid and pays £200 per day, with responsibilities spanning end-to-end procurement, stakeholder engagement, and strategic sourcing.

The successful candidate will have strong governance knowledge, be able to manage multiple priorities, and hold a procurement qualification such as CIPS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' procurement experience in a public sector organisation.
• End-to-end procurement management experience.
• Understanding of public sector procurement and governance requirements.
• Experience influencing stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
• Strong commercial, negotiation and supplier-management skills.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and quickly become effective within a new organisation.
• Procurement qualification such as CIPS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement exercises from initial requirement through to contract award.
• Provide professional procurement advice and guidance to stakeholders.
• Develop appropriate sourcing and procurement strategies.
• Support tendering, evaluation, negotiation and contract award processes.
• Ensure procurement activity is undertaken in accordance with relevant public sector procurement requirements and internal governance.
• Engage effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Identify opportunities to achieve value for money and improve commercial outcomes.
• Support contract and supplier management activity where required.
• Maintaining accurate procurement documentation and appropriate audit trails.
• Managing competing priorities within a fast-paced procurement environment.
