Job summary

Gateley Smithers Purslow is looking to recruit a full-time Building Surveyor to join their growing team in Nottingham. This role involves supporting the Surveying team on various projects including insurance work for residential and commercial buildings.

The successful candidate will handle inspections, prepare reports, and oversee projects while maintaining health and safety standards. A BSc in Building Surveying and strong communication skills are essential. The position offers a competitive remuneration package along with flexible working options.

Qualifications

• Experience with insurance repair projects preferred.
• Experience in consulting engineering, architectural & planning practices.
• Ability to solve problems methodically.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and advise on design, construction, and refurbishment of buildings.
• Prepare reports, schedules of work, and specifications.
• Design and oversee works using recognised building contracts.
• Comply with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.

Skills

Experience in defect diagnosis and report writing

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Sound mathematical and scientific skills

Ability to work to deadlines and budgets

Knowledge of CDM Regs 2015 and Building Regulation legislation

BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying
