Job summary

Gateley Smithers Purslow in Leeds is seeking a full-time Building Surveyor to join our busy team. You will inspect and advise on design, construction, maintenance and refurbishment of buildings across residential and commercial projects.

The role supports the surveying team by preparing reports, schedules of work and specifications while ensuring compliance with health & safety, party wall and building regulations. This is a client-facing opportunity with growth potential.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying.
• Experience and working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planning practices and procedures.
• Experience in Defect Diagnosis and report writing.
• Insurance repair project experience preferred.
• Experience in working to deadlines and within budgets on large scale projects.
• Experience and understanding of CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall and Building Regulation legislation.
• Sound mathematical, scientific and IT skills and the ability to think methodically to problem solve.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible and Variable Attitude to work type.

• At all times to comply with the requirements of the Company’s administrative, personnel procedures and Health & Safety regulations.

Gateley Smithers Purslow are looking to recruit afull-timeBuilding Surveyor to join our growing team in Leeds. The work will primarily be Yorkshire based plus local areas surrounding Leeds.

This is a busy and varied role providing support to the Surveying team on a wide range of projects, including insurance work, primarily residential and commercial buildings in all forms of construction.The Building Surveyor is expected to support their Line Manager andis responsible forhandling projects withinownlevel of authority and providing training and guidance to supporting team members.

The person

Candidates will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

• BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying
• Experience and working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planningpracticesand procedures supported by an awareness of the latest statutory requirements and technical publications.
• Experience in Defect Diagnosis and report writing
• Insurance repair project experience preferred
• Experience in working to deadlines and within budgets on large scale projects
• Experience and understanding of CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall and Building Regulation legislation
