Job summary

Nelson and Colne College Group is seeking a Lecturer for Professional Construction to lead the T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction. The post involves curriculum planning, employer engagement, and delivery across Accrington and Rossendale College sites.

The successful candidate will deliver T Level modules, build industry placements, and manage projects, with travel between sites and potential trainee-teacher pathways supported by the college.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
  • A degree or higher in construction/architecture/surveying and design or similar.
  • Experience of working in the sector and willingness to engage with schools and employers.
  • A qualified teacher though we will consider an initial trainee post with strong industry background.
  • Flexibility to teach in the evenings.

Lecturer - Professional Construction

Salary: Up to £41,937 per annum, depending on experience. Plus £3,000 market premium payment for candidates with identified experience.

Hours: 35 per week

Weeks Per Year: 52 per year

Contract Type: Permanent

The Exciting Role

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Professional Construction Lecturer. The role will support the further development and delivery of our higher technical qualifications and to take the lead on the introduction of T-Levels. You will oversee the development of the curriculum plan for the T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction. You will develop an employer network to support the industry placements and employer set project for learners completing the T Level programme.

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Accrington and Rossendale College but will be required to travel across sites.

This role has a market premium payment attached of up to £3,000 per annum approved for three years in the first instance. This is for candidates who have the experience of delivering on the Construction T-Level qualification. However, we would also welcome applications from candidates who do not have this experience.

What You Will Be Doing:

You will be delivering T Level Design, Surveying and Planning and Civil Engineering. We are in particular interested in attracting an individual with graduate knowledge and skills in CAD/Revit, Quantity Surveying and material science.

What We Are Looking For:
  • 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
  • A professional with a degree or higher in construction/architecture/surveying and design or similar
  • Experience of working in the sector and willingness to complete outward facing engagement activities with schools and employers.
  • A qualified teacher though we will consider an initial trainee post for this role too with a strong industry relevant background
  • Flexibility to teach in the evenings
