Job summary

Nelson and Colne College Group is seeking a Community Teacher in Education & Early Years to inspire adult learners across Lancashire. You will deliver high-quality programmes, assess progress, and support learners toward further study or employment.

The role requires a strong Early Years background, willingness to travel between sites, and a commitment to excellence in learning for adults within an Outstanding organisation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive teaching across Education and Early Years programmes, planning high-quality learning for adults.
  • Teach in face-to-face and live online classroom environments using Microsoft Teams and monitor progress.
  • Provide effective pastoral support and constructive feedback to learners.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, and learner recruitment and progression.

Salary: Up to £36,428 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: 35 per week

Working Weeks: 52 per year

Contract Type: Permanent

The Exciting Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Teacher in Education & Early Years to join the Lancashire Adult Learning team, part of the East Lancashire Learning Group.

This rewarding role offers the chance to inspire and support adult learners across Lancashire, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to achieve their goals and progress into further learning or employment. Working within a committed and supportive curriculum team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality Education and Early Years programmes, shaping positive learner experiences and contributing to a culture of excellence, achievement and continuous improvement.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with a strong Early Years background, who can bring current industry knowledge and experience to enrich learning and support learners aspiring to careers within the sector.

The successful candidate will be required to travel across Lancashire to different sites and venues.

This post could suit an experienced practitioner looking for their next challenge or a newly qualified teacher looking to make their mark within an Outstanding organisation.

What You Will Be Doing

You will deliver engaging and inclusive teaching across a range of Education and Early Years programmes, planning high-quality learning that enables adult learners to achieve their full potential.

You will teach in both face-to-face and live online classroom environments using Microsoft Teams, creating interactive learning experiences that meet the needs of diverse adult learners. You will monitor learner progress, attendance and achievement, provide effective tutorial and pastoral support, and ensure accurate assessment and constructive feedback.

Alongside teaching, you will contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance activities, learner recruitment and progression, while maintaining comprehensive learner records and working collaboratively to achieve departmental targets for learner success, retention and satisfaction.

  • Successful experience of teaching on Education & Early Years pathways
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the educational needs of adults
  • Knowledge of and proven ability to deliver the curriculum successfully
  • Demonstrate a learner-centred approach to teaching and learning
  • We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with recent Early Years experience and a passion for developing the next generation of practitioners in the sector
