Job summary

Barking & Dagenham College is seeking a passionate Lecturer in Production and Performing Arts to support learners in developing core skills for work and life.

In this full-time, permanent role you will deliver engaging sessions, design schemes of work, provide constructive feedback, monitor progress, and contribute to curriculum development while promoting inclusive teaching and safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • Requires recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching Production and Performing Arts in Further Education.
  • Ability to teach across all levels with industry background.
  • Strong focus on inclusive teaching, differentiation and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging schemes of work tailored to learners with diverse starting points.
  • Use learner-centered teaching to drive progress and achievement.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to build confidence.
  • Monitor attendance, progress and achievement with timely interventions.
  • Support learners with barriers to education in an inclusive classroom.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and ongoing professional development.

We are seeking a Lecturer in Production and Performing Arts to join our team on a Full- Time, Permanent Basis.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Production and Performing Arts Lecturer , you will deliver engaging and inclusive sessions to learners, supporting them to develop practical literacy skills for work, further study and everyday life.

You will:

  • Develop engaging schemes of work tailored to learners with diverse starting points
  • Use learner-centred teaching and assessment strategies to drive progress and achievement
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback that builds confidence and promotes independence
  • Monitor and track attendance, progress and achievement, implementing timely interventions where required
  • Support learners with varying barriers to education, creating an inclusive and motivating classroom environment
  • Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring provision remains relevant to employment and progression pathways
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge of education policiesand practice
What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a passionate and committed Production and Performing Arts specialist who understands the transformational impact of further education.

You should have:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent)

In addition, you will demonstrate:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent). In addition, you will demonstrate:
  • Experience teaching Production and Performng Arts within Further Education
  • The ability to teach across all levels and have industry background.
  • Recent experience teaching Production and Performng Arts from entry-level through to Level 2 and Level 3 – ideally within a Further Education/College setting;
  • Strong understanding ofinclusive teaching strategies
  • The ability to differentiate effectively for mixed-ability groups
  • Experience tracking and monitoring learner progress using digital systems
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and learner wellbeing
