Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment (face-to-face, online and blended).
  • Be responsible for course delivery, course management and learner success within Mechanical Engineering.
  • Maintain high teaching standards via peer review, observation and reflective practice.
  • Undertake assessment, internal verification and maintain accurate learner records per quality standards.
  • Contribute to curriculum design, development and improvement aligned to employer needs.
  • Support recruitment, selection and enrolment of learners.
  • Liaise with employers, schools, universities and stakeholders to support progression and partnerships.
  • Contribute to enrichment activities (trips, visits, guest speakers, employer engagement).
  • Engage in continuous professional development, keeping up-to-date subject and pedagogical knowledge.
  • Support quality assurance processes and awarding body requirements.
  • Participate in cross-college activities, working groups and strategic initiatives.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Actively support learner wellbeing, safeguarding and personal development.
  • Contribute to innovative delivery methods including digital and blended learning within the Mechanical Engineering Department.
  • Maintain professional standards and accountability, including active participation in relevant professional development.

Job description

1. To plan, prepare and deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment (face-to-face, onlineand blended).

2. To be responsible for course delivery, course management and learner success rates withinMechanical Engineering.

3. To maintain high standards of teaching and learning through peer review, observation andreflective practice.
