Qualifications

  • Significant industry experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering or welding discipline.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Assessor qualification (or willingness to achieve within an agreed timeframe).
  • Experience of using digital portfolio systems and online learning technologies.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.

Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious, experienced, and forward-thinking Machinist/Maintenance Lecturer to join our Engineering Department and lead the development of a high-profile apprenticeship/Study Program curriculum areas. At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to delivering an outstanding student experience. Our staff are dedicated to providing high-quality education and training that enables learners to achieve their full potential. We are looking for a motivated and suitably qualified individual to join our dynamic Engineering Team and take responsibility for the delivery and development of our Machining/Maintenance provision. The successful candidate will possess strong industry expertise in Machining/Maintenance, with the ability to engage and inspire learners across a range of Machining/Maintenance processes. You will be experienced in delivering practical and theoretical training aligned to City & Guilds qualifications, as well as teaching relevant BTEC Engineering units (Units 1, 2 and 3) level 2 Lathes, Mills, Bench fitting, for EAL city and guilds Level 3 4515 advanced machining, CNC programming and CAD/CAM for Mazak machines. You will bring energy, enthusiasm and professionalism to the role, supporting apprentices to achieve success through high-quality teaching, assessment and mentoring. Working closely with learners, you will support apprentices/ full time learners throughout their entire learning journey, from recruitment and induction through to End-Point Assessment (EPA). You will build and maintain strong employer partnerships, ensure an excellent customer experience, and contribute to maintaining our reputation as a provider of choice for apprenticeship training.
