Job description
The Role

Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer in Sport. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of a high‑quality sport curriculum, supporting students to achieve their full potential and progress into further study or employment within the sport and fitness sector.

Your Responsibilities

As a key member of the curriculum team, your primary responsibility will be to support the effective development and delivery of managed learning for students. Key duties will include:

  • Delivering inclusive, high‑quality teaching, learning, and assessment in Sport.
  • Supporting curriculum design, development, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Monitoring and supporting student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression, providing targeted support where required.
  • Effectively using B&FC systems and processes (e.g. VLE, progress tracking, internal verification and moderation) to enable student success.
  • Participating in student recruitment activities, including interviews, Initial Advice and Guidance (IAG), open days, and curriculum events.
  • Maintaining up‑to‑date subject knowledge and applying effective face‑to‑face and digital pedagogies.
  • Contributing to the B&FC academic community through scholarship, research, and professional practice.
