Job summary

Blackburn College is seeking a dedicated music tutor to join the Music Team. You will teach and assess on music units at level 2 and 3, working alongside the Curriculum Leader to maintain high standards of learning.

Applicants must hold a UK Honours degree in Music with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, and have hands-on experience with Logic Pro and studio/rehearsal environments to support HE progression.

Qualifications

• Teach and assess music courses at levels 2 and 3.
• Hold a UK Honours degree in Music and a PGCE or recognised teaching qualification.
• Proficient in industry-standard music software for sequencing, recording and post-production using Logic.
• Experience in a recording studio or rehearsal environment with strong HE progression knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support and work with the Music Team and Curriculum Leader to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment.
• Contribute to course design and HE progression guidance.
• Engage students and monitor progress to meet learning outcomes.

Job description

You will support and work alongside the Music Team and Curriculum Leader in delivering a high standard of teaching, learning and assessment on a range of courses including music units at level 2 & 3.

You must have a UK Honours degree or UK ENIC degree in a Music and a PGCE or other recognised teaching qualification. You will also have sound knowledge and experience of using industry standard software for music sequencing, recording/production and post-production using Logic. In addition, you should have experience of working within a recording studio and/or rehearsal environment and strong technical knowledge of the music industry including context, theory and requirements for HE progression.
