Job summary

Walsall College seeks a Lecturer in Functional Skills on a fixed-term basis to support apprentices and work-based learners. You will deliver maths and English, prepare schemes of work, plan lessons and assessments, and provide pastoral support to students.

You will also participate in interviewing, enrolment and induction, using starting points to tailor teaching. The role requires a teaching qualification (DTLLS, Cert Ed/PGCE or equivalent) and a relevant subject qualification, with a

We are currently looking for a Lecturer in Functional Skills to support our apprentices and work based students.

You will be delivering and promote maths, English at an appropriate level, you must be dedicated to delivering motivating and inspiring teaching and learning to unleash the potential of our students. You will also be expected to prepare schemes of work, lesson and assessment plans and provide appropriate academic and pastoral support to individual students as required.

Participating in the interviewing, enrolment and induction of students, you will also be expected to use information on students’ starting points, such as initial assessments, to plan teaching and learning.

A Teaching Qualification, i.e. DTLLS, Cert. Ed/PGCE, or equivalent (or a commitment to work towards) is essential for this role, alongside an appropriate subject qualification.
