Weston College Group is opening a new advanced manufacturing technical excellence college in Filton, Bristol. The college seeks a lecturer in engineering - machinist (amtec) to join the team on a full-time basis (37 hours per week) with interviews on-site at amtec.

You will deliver units within workshops, requiring practical machining knowledge in engineering; responsibilities include teaching, tutoring, monitoring progress, and guiding students toward employment or further study.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification, or equivalent in a relevant area.
• Knowledge of machining within engineering.
• Knowledge and experience of current teaching strategies.

As part of our expansion into our new site, we are looking for someone to join the team on a full-time basis (37 hours per week) as a lecturer in engineering - machinist (amtec).

interviews for this role will take place on-site, at amtec.

in this role, you will be delivering units within our workshops, and therefore a practical knowledge of machining within engineering is required for this role.

day to day duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

• providing high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across a number of programmes as agreed with the head of area;
• tutorship of students, showing sensitivity to their needs and encouraging the highest possible standards;
• for meeting targets with reference to student progress on programme, for their attendance and retention;
• providing advice and guidance to students in their progression to either employment or other courses within the college.
