Job summary

Weston College is opening the Advanced Manufacturing Technical Excellence College (AMTEC) in Filton, Bristol. We seek a full-time Lecturer in Engineering - Aerospace and Mechanical (AMTEC) to deliver teaching to FE and HE learners.

You will provide high-quality teaching, mentorship and guidance, with knowledge of machining within engineering and modern teaching strategies. The role is based on-site at AMTEC with 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification, or equivalent in a relevant area.
• Knowledge and experience of current teaching strategies.
• Knowledge of Machining within Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across FE and HE programmes as agreed with the Head of Area.
• Tutor and mentor students to support progression and attainment.
• Support targets for student progress, attendance and retention.
• Advise and guide students in progression to employment or further study.

Job description

As one of the fastest-growing Colleges in the UK, Weston College is excited to be opening the brand-new Advanced Manufacturing Technical Excellence College in Filton, Bristol, which will welcome its first learners in September 2026. As part of our expansion into our new site, we are looking for someone to join the team on a full-time basis ( 37 hours per week) as a Lecturer in Engineering - Aerospace and Mechanical (AMTEC). Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at AMTEC. In this role, you will be delivering units to both FE and HE learners. Day to day duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

• Providing high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across a number of programmes as agreed with the Head of Area;
• Tutorship of students, showing sensitivity to their needs and encouraging the highest possible standards;
• For meeting targets with reference to student progress on programme, for their attendance and retention;
• Providing advice and guidance to students in their progression to either employment or other courses within the College.
