Job summary

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group is seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Engineering to teach across Level 3-5 programmes at Stafford College. You will use innovative methods to secure learner success, raise aspirations, and support positive progression in a dynamic college setting.

We welcome applicants with an Engineering degree, industry experience, and willingness to study for a teaching qualification (DTLLS/PGCE).

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Engineering and equivalent higher technical expertise.
  • Experience in core Engineering fields (Design & Development, Mechanical, Motorsports).
  • Willingness to study for DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Industry experience and ability to deliver to industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lively, interactive teaching to an outstanding standard on Engineering programmes.
  • Secure outstanding learner progress and meet recruitment, retention, achievement and progression targets.
  • Engage in core duties: preparation, marking, progress monitoring, reports, exams, and flexible learning materials.

Lecturer in Engineering

Salary: £32,136 - £42,848 per annum

Benefits: Up to £5,000 golden hello payment Up to £12,288 Employer Pension contributions

Location: Stafford College

Hours: Full time - 37 hours per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual to teach within the Engineering curriculum, that uses innovative and dynamic methods to secure learner success, develops high aspirations and support positive progression. To teach on a range of full-time, part-time and apprenticeship programmes at Level 3-5 in general Engineering and automotive engineering/motorsports

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • To deliver lively and interactive teaching, learning and assessment to an outstanding standard on a range of programmes as appropriate.
  • To secure outstanding success for all learners and ensure targets for recruitment, retention, achievement and success, attendance and progression are met.
  • Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • has a relevant degree in Engineering and equivalent higher technical expertise in this field
  • is experienced in a core field of Engineering such as but not limited to: Design and Development, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Motorsports Engineering
  • has or is willing to study for a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent).
  • has industry experience, with current knowledge and the ability to deliver to industry standard.
  • is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
