Job summary

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is recruiting for a Lecturer in Engineering at Stafford College. This is a full-time post (37 hours per week) with a salary of £32,136–£42,848 per annum.

The role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching across Level 3–5 Engineering and motorsport programmes, with an emphasis on innovative methods and learner progression. The package includes a £5,000 golden hello, up to £12,288 employer pension contributions, extensive annual leave, cycle-to-work,

Qualifications

  • Has a relevant degree in Engineering and equivalent higher technical expertise in this field.
  • Experience in a core field of Engineering such as Design & Development, Engineering, Mechanical or Motorsports.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lively interactive teaching, learning and assessment to an outstanding standard on a range of programmes.
  • Secure outstanding learner progression, recruitment, retention and achievement targets.
  • Prepare, mark, monitor progress, prepare reports and develop flexible learning materials.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual to teach within the Engineering curriculum, that uses innovative and dynamic methods to secure learner success, develops high aspirations and support positive progression. To teach on a range of full-time, part-time and apprenticeship programmes at Level 3-5 in general Engineering and automotive engineering/motorsports

Main Duties And Responsibilities
  • To deliver lively and interactive teaching, learning and assessment to an outstanding standard on a range of programmes as appropriate.
  • To secure outstanding success for all learners and ensure targets for recruitment, retention, achievement and success, attendance and progression are met.
  • Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.
Required Skills And Experience
  • has a relevant degree in Engineering and equivalent higher technical expertise in this field
  • is experienced in a core field of Engineering such as but not limited to: Design and Development, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Motorsports Engineering
  • has or is willing to study for a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent).
  • has industry experience, with current knowledge and the ability to deliver to industry standard.
  • is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
