Job summary

South Staffordshire College is seeking a dynamic Electrical Lecturer for the Rodbaston Campus on a permanent, full-time contract (37 hours/week). The role supports the introduction of T level and green technology modules, including EV charging and solar courses, and requires vocational electrical experience with delivery across Level 3.

You will prepare engaging teaching programmes, utilise e-learning, assess learners, and contribute to safeguarding and CPD.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must have vocational experience and demonstrate ability to teach Electrical subjects up to Level 3.
  • The ideal candidate will hold or be working towards a professional teaching qualification.
  • Delivery of innovative, interactive sessions and effective use of e-learning materials.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Electrical subjects up to Level 3 across the curriculum.
  • Prepare teaching and learning programmes to high standards.
  • Use e-learning activities and materials to encourage active learner participation.
  • Undertake induction, initial assessments and provide learner support as required.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, organisation and interpersonal skills in delivery.

Job description

Status / Hours: Permanent, Full time 37 hours per week

PLUS a 'Golden Hello' of 5% in year 1

Qualified teacher rate: To attract the qualified teacher rate of pay, applicants should hold a recognised full FE teaching qualification, such as DiT, PGCE/PGCE FE, Cert Ed, or equivalent. Applicants without a full FE teaching qualification are still welcome to apply and, if appointed, will be supported to work towards one.

Location: Rodbaston Campus

South Staffordshire College is looking to employ a dynamic, energetic, and enthusiastic full time Electrical Lecturer; to join our expending and successful team, the introduction of "T" level qualifications and green technologies in our new Green Village Centre will allow us to expand and invigorate our curriculum offer for students with additions such as EV Charging and Solar Voltaic courses as well as the chance to develop enhanced digital technologies into the curriculum delivery.

Successful applicants must have relevant vocational experience and demonstrate their ability to be able to teach across a range of Electrical subjects to Level 3; support high quality delivery in all aspects of our provision within the remit of the area of learning, to support learners through appropriate induction, personal support and to undertake initial assessments as required by our college policies and procedures.

In addition, you will be required to prepare teaching and learning programmes to a high standard using appropriate individual and group techniques, including the effective use of e-learning activities and materials, which encourage active participation in learning.

The ideal candidate will hold or be working towards a professional teaching qualification and have delivery experience and a passion for delivering innovative, interactive sessions as well as providing support, inspiration and guidance to our learners. In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach and excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

We recognise the value of your skills. For the successful candidate, South Staffordshire College is offering a Golden Hello payment of 5% of salary for eligible new starters, subject to scheme terms and conditions.
