Job summary

University of Brighton is seeking an experienced educator to join our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) school-centred partnerships team at Falmer. This fixed-term, part-time role (0.6 FTE) spans 24 months and is based at our Falmer campus, with a collaborative and supportive team committed to delivering high-quality teaching and an excellent student experience.

The role involves teaching a mix of primary and secondary trainees, with responsibilities in marking, moderation and curriculum

Qualifications

  • A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Significant primary and / or secondary teaching experience, with expertise in general pedagogical knowledge.
  • A strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging sessions to mixed groups of primary and secondary trainee teachers.

Are you a skilled and experienced educator with expertise in primary and or secondary education, looking to inspire the next generation of teachers?

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced applicant to join our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) school-centred ITE partnerships partnerships team at the University of Brighton. In this fixed-term (24 months), part-time role (0.6 Full-time equivalent) based at our Falmer campus, you will join a collaborative and supportive team committed to delivering high-quality teaching and an excellent student experience.

Our ITE provision is highly regarded, with strong student outcomes and a clear commitment to inclusive, practice-informed learning. You will play a key role in maintaining and developing our provision collaboratively designed and delivered off-site for both primary and secondary trainees.

Your Role Will Include
  • Delivering engaging sessions to mixed groups of primary and secondary trainee teachers
  • Overseeing marking, moderation and assessment processes in collaboration with partners
  • Contributing to curriculum development and course review
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner schools

The role includes teaching delivered year-round and can include some evening and Saturday activity.

  • A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience

  • Significant primary and / or secondary teaching experience, with particular expertise in general pedagogical knowledge
