Job summary

The Supply Register, on behalf of NCG South London Colleges, is seeking qualified Maths Lecturers to support GCSE and Functional Skills Maths across South London campuses on a flexible bank basis.

This opportunity is ideal for dedicated Maths lecturers seeking flexible teaching work in a supportive Further and Higher Education environment, delivering lessons and adjusting to curriculum needs across college campuses.

Qualifications

  • Must have PGCE/Cert Ed/DTLLS or equivalent.
  • Degree in Maths or related field.
  • Experience teaching Maths in FE/HE or schools.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver GCSE and Functional Skills Maths lessons.
  • Support learners to achieve academic goals.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging sessions.
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Support learners with varying abilities.

Location: South London & Docklands (Southwark College, Lewisham College and HE Centre - Harbour Exchange, Canary Wharf)

Contract: Temporary / Bank / Casual / Permanent

Hours: Flexible - dependent on curriculum needs

The Supply Register is currently inviting expressions of interest from qualified and experienced Maths Lecturers to support NCG South London Colleges, including Southwark College, Lewisham College, and the HE Centre at Harbour Exchange in Canary Wharf, on a flexible bank staff basis.

This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated Maths Lecturer seeking flexible teaching work within a supportive Further and Higher Education environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills Maths, helping learners develop confidence, mathematical skills, and achieve their academic goals. As a bank Maths Lecturer, you will provide high-quality teaching on an as-needed basis, covering both planned and short-term curriculum requirements across college campuses.

The Role

As a Maths Lecturer, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and inclusive Maths lessons to students across a range of levels and programmes.

  • Delivering high-quality GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths lessons
  • Supporting learners to achieve their academic and personal goals
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging sessions
  • Monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting learners with varying abilities and educational needs
What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent)
  • Relevant degree or strong subject knowledge in Maths or a related field
  • Experience teaching Maths within Further Education, Higher Education, or schools
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Flexible, reliable, and professional approach

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching Functional Skills Maths
  • Experience working within the Further Education sector
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
