Job summary

Bath College is seeking a dedicated Electrical lecturer to join the Apprenticeships Team in Radstock. The role focuses on delivering high-quality theory and practical teaching for Electrical programmes, including sector-based assessments onsite for apprentices.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade B or above.
• Electrical discipline qualification to at least Level 3 or equivalent.
• 18th Edition, 2nd Amendment qualification.
• TAQA Assessor Award (or willing to work towards).
• Teaching qualification (or willing to work towards).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of teaching and learning and monitor assessment processes in line with examination requirements.
• Deliver L3 Electrical work programmes using appropriate teaching methods.
• Produce schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans and learning materials.
• Plan and deliver specialist sessions in acting (electrical) while embedding diversity.
• Coordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments.
• Contribute to the ongoing success and vision of the department.

Compensation: £30,348.15 - £40,015.50 / year

Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Unqualified Lecturer Salary (P25-P27 £30,348.15 - £32,186.70)

Qualified Lecturer Salary L5 and above (P27-P35 £32,186.70 - £40,015.50)

Key Purpose - To work with the Apprenticeship Team Leader and Head of Apprenticeships to deliver a high-quality Electrical provision including classroom/workshop theory and practical teaching. This role will include onsite (employer based) assessments and reviews of apprentices, that meets with Bath College quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with examination requirements. To deliver L3 Electrical work programmes using appropriate teaching methods.
• Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
• Plan and deliver specialist sessions in acting using appropriate teaching methods whilst embedding the promotion of diversity within the electrical industry and the College.
• To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
• To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Level 2 (e.g. GCSE) English and Maths at Grade B or above
• A nationally recognised qualification, at least to level 3, or equivalent, in an Electrical discipline.
• 18th Edition, 2nd Amendment qualification
• TAQA Assessor Award (or willing to work towards)
