Job summary

Bath College is seeking an enthusiastic Electrical Installation Lecturer to join its Construction and Building Services team in Radstock. The role involves delivering Level 1–3 Electrical Installation teaching, developing hands-on skills and industry knowledge for apprentices and learners.

We welcome experienced electricians or educators with strong communication abilities, and teaching qualifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification (or above) in Electrical Installation.
• Current or recent industry experience within the electrical sector.
• Knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry practices.
• Experience teaching, training, mentoring, or assessing apprentices and learners is desirable.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective Electrical Installation lessons across Levels 1-3.
• Teach both practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory.
• Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with awarding body requirements.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback and support.
• Prepare learners for City & Guilds qualifications and industry expectations.
• Promote high standards of health and safety within the workshop environment.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
