Job summary

Bath College in Radstock invites applications for a Lecturer/Assessor in Electrical. This permanent, full-time role is 37 hours per week across 52 weeks per year, with salary bands from £30,348 to £40,015.

You will deliver classroom and workshop theory and practical electrical teaching, supervise employer-based assessments, and contribute to the Apprenticeships Team. The college values inclusion and aims to support learners from entry to Level 5.

Qualifications

• Qualified for Electrical discipline at Level 3 or equivalent
• Industry-standard electrical qualifications are required
• Experience with teaching and assessing apprenticeships preferred

• Plan and deliver schemes of work, lesson and assessment plans
• Co-ordinate formative and summative assessments for apprentices

Qualified Lecturer Salary L5 and above (P27-P35 £32,186.70 - £40,015.50)

Key Purpose - To work with the Apprenticeship Team Leader and Head of Apprenticeships to deliver a high-quality Electrical provision including classroom/workshop theory and practical teaching. This role will include onsite (employer based) assessments and reviews of apprentices, that meets with Bath College quality expectations. Key Responsibilities

• To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with examination requirements. To deliver L3 Electrical work programmes using appropriate teaching methods.
• Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
• Plan and deliver specialist sessions in acting using appropriate teaching methods whilst embedding the promotion of diversity within the electrical industry and the College.
• To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
• To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Level 2 (e.g. GCSE) English and Maths at Grade B or above
• A nationally recognised qualification, at least to level 3, or equivalent, in an Electrical discipline.
• 18th Edition, 2nd Amendment qualification
• TAQA Assessor Award (or willing to work towards)
• Teaching Qualification (or willing to work towards)
