Job summary

Leeds Beckett University’s Law School is seeking a Lecturer to teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, with a strong commitment to research and publication. The role requires a UK undergraduate law degree (or GDL/CPE), a Master’s, and either a UK legal professional qualification or doctoral level qualification.

Preference given to candidates able to deliver Foundations of Legal Knowledge and to contribute to the School’s teaching excellence and research outputs.

Qualifications

• Candidates should hold UK legal professional qualification with relevant experience or a doctoral level qualification.
• Must hold UK undergraduate law degree or GDL (CPE) and a Master’s degree.
• Experience teaching and learning in an HE or equivalent setting; commitment to research and publication.
• Ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level; capability to deliver Foundations of Legal Knowledge.

Candidates for the Lecturer role should either hold a UK legal professional qualification with relevant experience or be qualified to doctoral level. The successful candidate will also hold a UK undergraduate law degree or GDL (CPE), and a master’s qualification. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching and learning in an HE or equivalent setting and demonstrate a commitment to research and publication.

We expect all our staff to contribute to our provision and help deliver a high-quality student experience. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and should have experience of teaching at least one of the Foundations of Legal Knowledge. Preference will be given to those candidates who can deliver teaching in one or more of the following are:

• Applied Corporate Law
• Business Law
• Company Law
• Commercial Law
• Corporate Secretarial Practice
• European Law in Context
• Family and Child Law
• Legal Tech

Interviews will take place during November and will be conducted online. There will be a process of longlisting. All longlisted applicants will be invited to submit a recorded teaching session, for example a narrated PowerPoint presentation, for shortlisting purposes and before interviews takes place.
