Job summary

Northumberland County Council seeks an experienced lecturer to expand its Maths provision, delivering Functional Skills and GCSEs across the Alnwick Campus. The role focuses on planning and developing programmes and delivering engaging, learner-centred teaching.

• Deliver Maths courses including Functional Skills and GCSEs across the County
• Plan for and deliver teaching activities and assess progress
• Prepare learners for examinations and provide personalised support
• Contribute to internal quality assurance and standardisation activities

Job description

We are looking for an experienced lecturer to expand our team to deliver a range of Maths courses, including Functional skills and GCSEs across our full provision.,

• To participate in the planning and development of programmes and to carry out teaching and learning activities across the County.
• To deliver good or outstanding teaching and learning, using innovative methods including e-learning and taking into account the needs of individual learners and support them to achieve their goals.
• To plan for and deliver additional learning support, personalised learning, to adjust teaching strategies to deal with individual learner needs.
• To implement assessment procedures that review and assess formative and summative progress of the learner Conduct regular progress reviews with the learner and where appropriate with employers.
• To prepare learners for examination or assessment.
• To prepare for internal and external quality assurance, with attendance at associated standardisation meetings.
  Alnwick Campus | Permanent | 18.5 hours (2.5 days per week, currently Monday, Wednesday and Friday but subject to change), 26 days annual leave plus public/bank holidays, rising to 31 days after 5 years of service (pro rata for part-time employees)
