Job summary

Northumberland County Council in Alnwick is seeking an experienced Maths lecturer to join our team, delivering a range of Maths courses including Functional Skills and GCSEs at the Alnwick Campus.

The role is permanent, part-time (18.5 hours per week), with opportunities to develop teaching methods, employ e-learning, and support learners to achieve their goals. This post offers flexible working possibilities and a commitment to high-quality education.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Maths courses including GCSE/Functional Skills.
• Ability to support learners to achieve goals and provide personalised learning.
• Commitment to high quality teaching and ongoing curriculum development.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and development of programmes across the County.
• Deliver good/outstanding teaching using innovative methods including e-learning.
• Plan for and deliver additional learning support and assess progress.
• Prepare learners for examinations or assessments and QA activities.
• Conduct regular progress reviews with learners and employers where appropriate.
• Ensure readiness for internal and external quality assurance meetings.

Job Introduction

We are looking for an experienced lecturer to expand our team to deliver a range of Maths courses, including Functional skills and GCSEs across our full provision.

Alnwick Campus | Permanent | 18.5 hours (2.5 days per week, currently Monday, Wednesday and Friday but subject to change)

The Role

• To participate in the planning and development of programmes and to carry out teaching and learning activities across the County.
• To deliver good or outstanding teaching and learning, using innovative methods including e-learning and taking into account the needs of individual learners and support them to achieve their goals.
• To plan for and deliver additional learning support, personalised learning, to adjust teaching strategies to deal with individual learner needs.
• To implement assessment procedures that review and assess formative and summative progress of the learner Conduct regular progress reviews with the learner and where appropriate with employers.
• To prepare learners for examination or assessment.
• To prepare for internal and external quality assurance, with attendance at associated standardisation meetings.
