Job summary

Rotherwood is recruiting a Youth Support Worker in Failsworth, Oldham, to provide tailored 1:1 support to young people aged 16-18 within a new supported accommodation service. The role focuses on promoting independence, wellbeing and personal development in a safe, supportive environment.

You will build positive relationships, encourage engagement in education, employment and training, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

  • Previous support work, care or youth-based experience.
  • Enhanced DBS covering both Adults and Children (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

  • Provide 1:1 support to young people aged 16-18.

  • Support young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health needs.

Contract: Full-Time Permanent Positions Available

Shifts: Days (8:00am - 8:00pm) or Nights (8:00pm - 8:00am)

No Sleep-Ins Required | Waking Nights Only

We are recruiting on behalf of a new supported accommodation service in Failsworth, Oldham, supporting young people aged 16-18 on a 1:1 basis.

This service provides support to young people with a range of needs including mental health challenges, autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, emotional and behavioural needs, trauma backgrounds and young people transitioning towards independence.

We are looking for dedicated and resilient individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve positive outcomes.

The Role

As a Youth Support Worker, you will provide tailored 1:1 support to young people within the service, promoting independence, wellbeing and personal development.

You will build positive relationships, encourage engagement in education, employment and training, and support young people to develop essential life skills while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Experience Required
