Job summary

Northamptonshire Children’s Trust seeks a Personal Advisor to support young people aged 16–25 in or leaving care, guiding their journey toward independence. You will assess needs, develop Pathway Plans, and provide personalised guidance across education, housing, health, and relationships.

You’ll work with the Practice Manager and Team Manager, engaging with partner agencies to improve outcomes. Willingness to travel is essential to meet needs across the county.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of legislation relating to looked-after children and care leavers.
• Substantial experience working with young people aged 16–25 in professional or voluntary capacity.
• Ability to build meaningful relationships with young people, including harder-to-engage individuals.

Responsibilities

• Assess and develop Pathway Plans covering education, housing, health, relationships and more.
• Provide personalised support to care leavers, with attention to immigration status when relevant.
• Collaborate with managers and partner agencies to improve service delivery and outcomes.
• Represent the Leaving Care Service at events and participate in skills-based activities for young people.
• Work within a duty rota to ensure consistent support across the service.
