Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking a detail‑focused Managing Agent Assurance Officer to provide independent assurance across its managed agent portfolio. You’ll review service charge expenditure, assess lease compliance and help ensure costs are accurate and evidenced.

You’ll work with Managing Agent Relationship Managers, Service Charge and Legal teams; investigate complex issues, support disputes and contribute to tribunal proceedings when needed. Hybrid/office options available.

Qualifications

• Experience in service charges, leasehold management and related technical discipline.
• Knowledge of residential service charges, lease obligations and recoverability principles.
• Understanding of Sections 19, 20 and 20B of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.
• Experience reviewing financial information, supporting documentation and service charge evidence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with clear presentation of findings.
• Strong analytical skills to identify risks and improvements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex casework.
• Experience liaising with internal teams, managing agents and solicitors.
