Job summary

Southern Housing seeks an experienced Leasehold Officer to join the Service Charge and Specialist Leasehold Services team. You will deliver specialist leasehold services, interpret leases and manage consents, notices and legal documentation, working with residents and stakeholders.

You will provide technical support on disputes, enforcements, rights to manage and enfranchisement matters, ensuring compliance with legislation and policy while embracing hybrid working as agreed with your manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in leasehold services, property management, housing or a related area.
• Strong understanding of residential leasehold principles and lease interpretation.
• Experience managing leasehold consents, permissions or specialist administration.
• Experience handling complex enquiries or casework.
• Strong organisation and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• A relevant qualification or equivalent experience at A-Level standard.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist leasehold advice and guidance to residents, colleagues and stakeholders.
• Interpret residential leases and explain rights, responsibilities and restrictions.
• Process consents and permissions, including alterations and subletting applications.
• Administer notices, registrations, transfers and legal documentation.
• Support Right to Manage, Right to Acquire, lease extensions and enfranchisement matters.
• Provide technical support with disputes, breaches, enforcement and complex enquiries.
• Prepare information and evidence for tribunals, legal proceedings and dispute resolution.
• Provide specialist leasehold input for new schemes, developments and disposals.

About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Leasehold Officer to join our Service Charge & Specialist Leasehold Services team.

The role

You’ll deliver specialist leasehold services across Southern Housing’s portfolio. You’ll manage specialist processes and provide technical support on lease interpretation, consents, permissions, statutory leasehold matters and complex enquiries. You’ll work with residents, colleagues, legal representatives and other stakeholders while ensuring our work meets lease obligations, legislation, policy and organisational requirements.

The location

You’ll be based at one of our main offices in Farringdon, Croydon or Sittingbourne, with hybrid working available when appropriate and agreed with your manager.
