Job summary

Queen Alexandra College is seeking a Learning Support Assistant Manager to lead day-to-day LSA operations, support the Learning Support Manager and ensure high-quality learner support.

The post requires safeguarding awareness, staff supervision experience and the ability to manage LSA allocations, appraisals and CPD. It is based at Harborne, Birmingham, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and learner wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Minimum level 2 or equivalent in numeracy and literacy (and preferably IT).
• Experience supervising staff and managing teams in an educational setting.
• Ability to coach and develop Learning Support Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Plan, promote and maintain the College's aims within teaching and learning and corporate life.
• Act as a role model, maintain professional boundaries and effective communication.
• Ensure LSAs meet service standards and adapt to group dynamics.
• Coordinate LSA allocation and provide high-quality learner support.
• Conduct staff appraisals and observations; provide written reports as required.
• Provide line management of the LSA team and CPD opportunities.
• Recruitment, induction and probation management for LSAs.
• Collaborate with tutors to ensure effective learner support and behavior management.
