Job summary

Hillmorton High School is seeking an enthusiastic learning support teacher to work with Years 7–9, delivering tailored literacy and numeracy support in small groups. You will develop individualised programmes and implement proactive behaviour strategies to meet diverse learning needs.

This is a part-time fixed-term role (0.5 FTTE) running from 28 Jan 2027 to 28 Jan 2029, with a strong emphasis on Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive teaching.

Qualifications

• Neurodiversity advocacy with student-centered learning.
• Identify learning gaps and deliver literacy interventions.
• Differentiate curriculum for Years 7–9.
• Use restorative practices and structured routines.
• Build strong connections with students, whānau and staff.
