Job summary

GSL Education - Chelmsford is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students in a SEND school setting in Colchester. You will work closely with teachers to help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop independence across lessons and interventions.

The role offers daily pay between £93 and £120 depending on experience, with ongoing professional development and opportunities to contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment for secondary-aged

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with secondary-aged students and staff.
• Patience, resilience and adaptability.
• Experience in education, coaching, youth work, mentoring, care or support work is desirable but not essential.
• Relevant qualifications are advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to students
• Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and participation in learning
• Support students with organisation, study skills and independent learning
• Help students prepare for assessments, coursework and examinations
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
