Job summary

Craven College in Skipton invites applications for a learning support role to work with students across curriculum types, helping to deliver personalised learning strategies and assist with English and Maths requirements.

You will engage learners, support health and safety, accompany educational visits, maintain student records, and contribute to staff meetings and continuing professional development in line with College policy.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 2 English and maths (or working towards).
• Experience supporting people with learning difficulties and disabilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with vulnerable adults and young people with special needs.
• Assisting lecturing staff with Individual Learning Plans and goals.
• Maintain student records and provide required reports.
• Possess an approved DBS Enhanced Disclosure.
• Proficient with digital tools and platforms; keep skills up-to-date.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of personalised learning strategies across curriculum types.
• Embed accurate use of English and Maths within planned learning and classroom.
• Engage students to reach national averages in English and Maths.
• Assist with pre-planned learning/behaviour activities as directed by the tutor.
• Assist in supervision of students on educational visits and breaks.
• Help prepare equipment and materials for teaching sessions; assist with cleaning.
• Observe health and safety regulations in the learning environment.
• Contribute to college meetings and professional development as required.
