Job summary

Positive Futures is seeking a Learning Support Practitioner to join a specialist further education setting, supporting young adults with learning disabilities to gain employment and independent living skills. You will work across residential, vocational, and classroom environments, helping students build confidence and practical abilities for adulthood.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within education, care, support work, or a similar environment (desirable).
• An understanding of supporting individuals with disabilities (desirable).
• A willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Level 2 English and Maths qualifications (desirable).
• A Level 3 qualification in Education or Care (desirable).
• A full UK driving licence (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Supporting students in learning, practical activities, and daily living skills.
• Encouraging confidence, independence, and personal achievement.
• Assisting students with communication, self-advocacy, and social development.
• Supporting the development of life skills including cooking, cleaning, laundry, personal care, teamwork, and presentation skills.
• Providing one-to-one support where required.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive environment.
• Supporting positive behaviour and wellbeing.
