Job summary

The East Kent Colleges Group is seeking Learning Support Practitioners to join Canterbury College, providing tailored one-to-one and group support to students with high levels of need across Entry Level to Level 3, including Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths. You will assist learners with learning difficulties in class, workshops, placements, and with personal care where required.

• Experience of supporting students with SEND needs in educational settings.
• Ability to promote independence and confidence in learners.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff and external professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide inclusive, person-centred support to students with SEND.
• Assist learners in classroom sessions, workshops and enrichment activities.
• Offer guidance to promote independence and confidence.
• Work with teaching staff and external professionals to support progression.
• Support students in achieving qualifications and progression goals.
• Assist with personal care where required (full training provided).
• Provide one-to-one and group support in classroom and workshop settings.
