Job summary

York College is seeking Learning Support Practitioners to help students with learning difficulties and disabilities across College. You will provide support one-to-one or in small groups, both in class and during unstructured times to facilitate understanding of the curriculum and foster learning.

We offer various hours (22.5, 30, or 37 per week) during term-time (36 weeks per year) with competitive pro rata salaries (£27,091 – £27,759).

Qualifications

• Educated to Level 3 or above.
• Experience supporting students with disabilities and learning needs.
• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care as required.
• Knowledge of ICT and assistive technology used in college settings.
• Familiarity with supporting students with visual or hearing impairments.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or small group learning support to students.
• Assist teaching staff and help students overcome barriers to learning.
• Support students with mobility and personal care needs in College and on off-site visits.
