An established educational institution is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Practitioner to assist pupils with special educational needs, particularly focusing on Autism. The Learning Support Practitioner’s (LSP) main role is to provide support for a pupil or pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan. The LSP will ensure that the pupil/s can integrate as fully as possible in our Reception class and take part in the activities undertaken by the other children and make progress.
You will need to have high expectations of the pupil/s that you work with and yourself, with a determined approach to ensuring every child can succeed. You will join a staff team who are fun, dedicated, hardworking and professional.
We Are Looking To Appoint Someone Who
Has experience of working in a school or educational setting
Demonstrates experience of working with pupils who have SEND needs with a particular focus on Autism
Has the ability to adapt communication and learning approaches meet the needs of pupils with SEND
Shows dedication and has high expectations
Has the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Has good subject and curriculum knowledge relevant to the role and year group
Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning
Is organised and can manage own workload
Has a recognised NVQ Level 3 Qualification or higher
