Job summary

Smile Education Recruitment are assisting a Cannock/Hednesford area school in finding a Level 3 qualified teaching assistant to support a KS1 class.

You will help plan activities, lead reading groups, support phonics delivery, and run intervention groups, while assisting with records and behaviour management. DBS checks and references are required.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualified teaching assistant with SLT qualification (within schools).
• Experience with the Primary curriculum is essential.
• Evidence of working with children with references.

Our school is located in the Cannock, Hednesford area, easily accessible by car or public transport. They are looking for a dedicated Level 3 qualified teaching assistant to support a KS1 class.

What your day will look like

• getting the classroom ready for lessons
• helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
• helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records
• supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
• supervising group activities
• clearing away materials and equipment after lessons
• leading reading groups
• supporting in the delivery of Phonics schemes within the school
• leading intervention groups for lower ability children

What you need to apply:

• Evidence of working with children through adequate references
• Passion and drive for supporting children within schools
• Experience with Primary curriculum
• Relevant qualifications for example: Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning within schools.
