Job summary

Smile Education is helping Cannock/Hednesford area schools find a dedicated Level 3 qualified teaching assistant to support a KS1 class and help children reach their education goals. The role is based in Cannock/Hednesford and accessible by car or public transport.

You will prepare classrooms, assist with tasks, support planning, read reading groups, phonics, and intervention groups, and contribute to safeguarding and compliance checks.

Qualifications

• Evidence of working with children through adequate references.
• Passion and drive for supporting children within schools.
• Experience with Primary curriculum.
• Relevant qualifications for example: Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning within schools.

Responsibilities

• getting the classroom ready for lessons
• helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
• helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records
• supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
• supervising group activities
• clearing away materials and equipment after lessons
• leading reading groups
• supporting in the delivery of Phonics schemes within the school
• leading intervention groups for lower ability children
