Job summary

Oldham College is seeking a committed Learning Support Officer to support the effective delivery of College services and priorities. This role focuses on enabling access to the curriculum for learners with SEND and collaborating with teaching staff to adapt learning strategies.

You will monitor student progress, support personal development, and contribute to safeguarding and inclusion commitments while helping create an inclusive learning environment across the college.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with SEND (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
• Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual learner needs.
• Good organisational skills, with experience maintaining accurate records.
• A proactive, flexible approach with a commitment to inclusion and learner success.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class and 1:1 support to learners with SEND, enabling access to the curriculum
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt learning strategies and resources
• Support learners’ personal development, independence, and positive behaviours for learning
• Monitor and record student progress, attendance, and engagement
• Contribute to EHCP outcomes and support planning, review, and intervention processes
• Carry out duties in line with College policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments
