Job summary

Engage Education seeks an aspiring Learning Support Officer to join a Tameside secondary school for the full academic year, Sept 2026 to July 2027. The role focuses on 1:1 and small group SEN support to children with complex learning needs, creating a warm, engaging atmosphere and building rapport.

You will report to the school SENCO, work full-time, and gain paid experience while contributing to inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in any capacity
• Psychology, Education Studies or Neuroscience graduates desirable
• Naturally outgoing and engaging individual with interest in teaching
• Open to full-time work beginning September 2026

Learning Support Officer – Role Information:

• Conducting specifically tailored 1:1 & small group support for children with SEN
• Creating warm and inspiring atmosphere for children throughout school day
• Creating and sustaining meaningful rapport with students
• Communicating with colleagues and reporting to school SENCO
• Located in one Oldham secondary school for full academic year

Learning Support Officer – Benefits:

• Paid £93 – £97 per day during term time
• Monday to Friday role from September 2026 to July 2027
