Job summary

Truro and Penwith College is seeking a proactive Learning Support Mentor Scheduling Lead to coordinate daily cover for LSMs and oversee timetable implementation across campuses. You will liaise with teaching and support staff to ensure consistent and effective SEND support while maintaining accurate records of attendance and progress.

The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, experience with SEND, and a commitment to student success.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
• Strong organisational, administrative, and IT skills.
• Experience supporting learners with additional needs/SEND.
• Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively.
• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or equivalent).
• Knowledge of FE sector and qualifications in education or support is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily cover for Learning Support Mentors in response to absence.
• Oversee and implement LSM timetables across campuses.
• Liaise with teaching staff, support staff, and managers to communicate support needs clearly.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and support provided.
• Communicate changes in support arrangements clearly to students.
• Provide flexible, needs-led support to learners, including those with complex needs.
• Support and guide LSMs to promote consistency and best practice.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and student-focused environment.
