OVERALL PURPOSE OFTHE POST
As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) withinthe Learning Support Hub, you will play a key role in supporting the LSHCoordinator to deliver personalised, evidence-based provision that removesbarriers to learning and promotes the success of vulnerable students.You will helpcreate a calm, structured and nurturing environment where students canregulate, develop essential skills, and make academic, social and emotionalprogress.
Working as part of the inclusion team, youwill contribute to the effective operation of the Learning Support Hub,supporting both targeted interventions and day-to-day provision. Your work willhelp ensure the successful reintegration of students into mainstream lessonsand provide high‑quality support in line with the school’s values andsafeguarding responsibilities.
MAIN DUTIES
- Work directly with students accessing theLearning Support Hub to support their learning, regulation and engagement
- Deliver or assist with targeted interventions(literacy, numeracy, SEMH, organisation, sensory regulation), following theguidance from the LSH Coordinator
- Promote positive behaviour, emotionalregulation and independence using agreed de‑escalation and relationalstrategies.
- Support students with classwork, catch‑uptasks and alternative learning activities.
- Encourage students to achieve SMART targetsset through their personalised plans
- Assistin maintaining a calm, purposeful, and safe learning environment.
- Supportthe Coordinator with the day‑to‑day running of the Hub, including supervisingstudents during arrival, transitions and break/lunchtimes when required.
- Helporganise learning resources, sensory equipment, intervention materials anddisplays to contribute to a positive school culture.
- Record student engagement, attendance andprovision delivered within the Hub using systems such as Provision Map andinternal referral logs.
- Contribute to accurate documentation thatsupports EHCP evidence gathering, internal referrals and external agencyinvolvement.
- Providetimely feedback to the Coordinator, SENDCO and pastoral staff regarding studentprogress, behaviour and emerging needs.
- Supportcommunication with parents and carers where appropriate, contributing tomeetings, reviews and daily updates
- Collaboratewith teaching staff to ensure reintegration strategies are understood andimplemented effectively.
- Be a visible presence in mainstream lessonsand shared spaces to actively support reintegration, reinforcing agreedstrategies and encouraging positive transitions back into class.
- Helpgather student voice to inform Assess–Plan–Do–Review cycles.
- Implementsupport strategies outlined in Learning Plans, risk reduction plans andpersonalised timetables.
- Provideinput into APDR reviews by sharing observations, progress notes and evidence.
- Supportthe Coordinator with standardised testing (e.g., organising materials,supervising students) where appropriate.
- Participatein training to develop knowledge of SEND, SEMH, sensory needs and interventionpractice.
- Contributeto SEND briefings and staff updates under the guidance of the Coordinator.
- Upholdsafeguarding duties, the Equality and Diversity Policy, and all schoolexpectations regarding health, safety and confidentiality.

Please note this job has a Probationary Period of 6Months and a Notice Period of 1 Month.
