Job summary

Blackpool and The Fylde College is seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to provide tailored support to students in classrooms and independent learning environments. You will help learners overcome barriers, build confidence, and progress toward further education or employment.

You will work with curriculum teams and support services to promote an inclusive, supportive student experience, track progress, and implement adjustments across settings, including exams and workshops.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised support to students with additional needs, including helping them access learning and stay on task.
• Monitor and track student progress, maintain records, and support funding reporting requirements.
• Implement reasonable adjustments and enabling strategies across classrooms, workshops, exams, and unstructured times.
• Support the development of students’ academic, digital, social, and employability skills, promoting independence and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents/carers, and external services to deliver cohesive support strategies and a positive, inclusive student experience.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in helping learners overcome barriers, develop confidence, and achieve their goals. Working closely with curriculum teams and support services, you’ll contribute to an inclusive and supportive environment that promotes engagement, independence, and progression into further education, employment, or independent living.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Provide personalised support to students with additional needs, including those with EHCPs, helping them access learning, stay on task, and achieve their aspirations.
• Monitor and track student progress, maintain accurate records, and support compliance with funding and reporting requirements.
• Implement reasonable adjustments and enabling strategies across a range of settings, including classrooms, workshops, exams, and unstructured times.
• Support the development of students’ academic, digital, social, and employability skills, promoting independence, resilience, and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents/carers, and external services to deliver cohesive support strategies and a positive, inclusive student experience.

This is a fixed-term, term-time only role, working 35 weeks per year (dependent on start date)
