Job summary

John Taylor MAT is seeking an experienced leader to oversee SEND provision across the school, acting as a central contact for pupils, parents, staff and external agencies. The postholder will coordinate the Learning Support Team, ensuring continuity when the SENDCo is not on site and will support statutory SEND processes.

The role emphasises safeguarding compliance and proactive issue escalation to support high-quality SEND delivery within our progressive Trust.

• Provide operational leadership and coordination of SEND provision across the school.
• Act as a key contact for pupils, parents, staff and external agencies.
• Coordinate Learning Support Team and ensure continuity when the SENDCo is off site.
• Respond to emerging issues and escalate statutory and strategic matters as needed.
• Support the effective implementation of statutory SEND processes.

Job description

The successful candidate will provide operational leadership and coordination of SEND provision across the school, acting as a key point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and external agencies. To also support the effective implementation of statutory SEND processes, coordinate the work of Learning Support Team and ensure continuity of SEND provision during periods when the SENDCo is not on site. The postholder will also play a significant role in maintaining day to day SEND operations and responding to emerging issues whilst escalating statutory and strategic matters appropriately.
