Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an ALN Learning Support Assistant for a mainstream secondary school in Caerphilly with a dedicated ALN provision. The role is full-time and long-term temporary, starting immediately to support students with additional learning needs in a specialist setting.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant TA/ALN qualification and experience with secondary-aged students, plus strong communication and behaviour management skills.

Qualifications

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated ALN Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, long-term temporary basis with an immediate start. The successful ALN Learning Support Assistant will work within the specialist provision, supporting secondary-aged students with a range of additional learning needs through tailored learning activities, classroom support and positive behaviour management.

The successful ALN Learning Support Assistant will have:

A relevant Teaching Assistant or ALN qualification is desirable

Experience supporting children or young people with Additional Learning Needs / ALN

Experience working with secondary-aged students

An understanding of positive behaviour management strategies

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A patient, caring and adaptable approach to supporting students
