Job summary

Highworth Combined School & Nursery in High Wycombe is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to help pupils access learning and grow in independence. You will work with class teachers and the SENCo to support individuals and groups, delivering planned interventions such as phonics, early reading and maths.

This fixed role offers a permanent contract starting November 2026, with a 32.5-hour week and a focus on inclusion, safeguarding, and collaborative teamwork in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and maths at grade 4/C or above (essential).
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning (desirable).
• Paediatric first aid or emergency first aid certificate (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Deliver small-group and one-to-one interventions in lessons.
• Support pupils with SEND to participate in school life with SENCo and specialists.
• Model school values and support pupil wellbeing and behaviour, including lunchtime supervision.
• Keep teachers and the SENCo informed about pupil progress and relationships with families.
