Job summary

Northumberland Skills Service in Northumberland is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support Construction and Engineering learners. Training and support will be provided; prior experience in SEN is valued but not essential.

37 hours per week, term-time plus 5 days. The role focuses on helping learners achieve their potential, implementing EHCP targets in collaboration with lecturers, and creating an inclusive learning environment across the classroom and other settings.

Qualifications

• Experience with children with SEN in a post-16 setting.
• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
• NVQ2 (NOS-STL) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of diverse pupil needs and learning styles.

Responsibilities

• Support learning opportunities for learners on Education Programme for Young People with SEN.
• Develop support in partnership with lecturing team.
• Assist and support learners with SEN and EHCP targets.
• Provide learning support in class or 1:1 settings.
• Create inclusive learning environments across the whole setting.
• Organise and modify resources under guidance.
