Job summary

Principal Education in North London is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant to join our SEND and Inclusion team.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help students access lessons, and adapt activities to meet diverse needs while promoting confidence and independence.

An Enhanced DBS is required; prior experience in a school or with children is desirable; a proactive, patient approach and commitment to safeguarding are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Enhanced DBS.
• Experience supporting students with SEND is desirable.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEND.
• Support pupils to access lessons and participate fully in the curriculum.
• Work alongside teachers to adapt learning activities and resources as needed.
• Support students with needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties and learning difficulties.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and emotional wellbeing.
• Deliver targeted interventions and support literacy, numeracy and study skills.
• Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback to teachers and the SEND team.
• Build positive, professional relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
