Job summary

Academics is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work in a Brilliant Primary School in Grays, supporting children with SEND on a 1:1 and small-group basis. The role requires patience, resilience and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils who may struggle with emotions.

You will contribute to calm, structured support that values boundaries alongside warmth and empathy, helping children access learning and grow in confidence.

Qualifications

• Has experience supporting children with SEND and/or challenging behaviour.
• Is patient, calm and emotionally resilient.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils who may struggle to regulate their emotions.
• Understands that behaviour is communication.
• Can provide consistent boundaries alongside warmth and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to learners.
• Support children with SEND to access learning and complete activities.

Are you an experienced LSA, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker or SEND professional who thrives on making a real difference?

I'm currently recruiting for a brilliant primary school in Grays looking for a passionate and resilient SEND Learning Support Assistant to join their team.

The school supports a number of children with EHCPs, additional needs and challenging behaviour, and they are looking for someone who can build strong, trusting relationships while providing consistent, calm and nurturing support.

You will be someone who:

• Has experience supporting children with SEND and/or challenging behaviour
• Is patient, calm and emotionally resilient
• Can build positive relationships with pupils who may struggle to regulate their emotions
• Understands that behaviour is communication
• Can provide consistent boundaries alongside warmth and empathy
• Is confident working on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Wants to make a genuine difference to children's lives
